A giant steel Afghan pattern Morchang by Rekha of Rajasthan. Heavy in the hand at over 5” long, this large morchang has quite a unique sound!

Dry and unsaturated, with a tall trigger that responds to a variety of plucking techniques. Playable in both directions at fast or slow speeds. The tongue of the instrument is long and powerful, opening up many possibilities for fast play. Muting techniques come easy to this harp while gaps and volume are medium. A big fun harp to play as well as good meditational tool.

Due to the hand forging these instruments may vary slightly in appearance and sound. These morchang are closely tuned by the maker. For an instrument tuned up to the closest note, choose “Permanent Tuning Service” in the Shop and our in house harpsmith will tune to the closest note, and engrave the tuning on the back!
